Standing now on the high, humped dried thing—lofty on that protective coating—I leaped easily up and seized one of the low hanging vines and climbed rapidly toward the blue ceiling of the chamber. I heard another hiss and saw a bolt from the crossbow shatter through the crystalline blue substance.
