For this purpose tarn baskets are sometimes used, but, if the journey is short, the tarn, even a common tarn, may carry a number of warriors, clinging to a knotted rope, some seven or so, to their destination. This tactic is not uncommon. One of the major innovations I had introduced was to condition the birds to associate ring cries with ring tensions.
