It was my supposition, of course, that all this had much more to do with Lord Grendel than with the Lady Bina, who, for all her remarkable intelligence, was in some ways astoundingly naive; certainly she knew little of Gor, little of the channels of politics, little of the springs of power, little of the motivations and plans of men and Kurii. These were connected by ramps. The Cave, on each level with which I was familiar, possessed a large number of wide corridors.
