The supports consisted of two pairs of diagonally crossed poles. The horizontal pole was supported by these, lying in their cradles, so to speak, crosswise, and was lashed to them. The horizontal pole was a trophy pole, now with its stanchions; the pole, peeled, was formed of a straight branch, like the other trophy poles, higher, from which had hung the skins of slain animals.
