I recalled reports I had heard in the tavern of an alleged monster sighted some weeks ago in the delta, something similar, save for a greater size and a silverish color, to the leatherish, black, snakelike "long tharlarion," with which the delta teems. I supposed it was, if it was real, a variety of long tharlarion, perhaps a mutant or sport, or such. It was not impossible that Aglaia had seen something in the water. Two other anomalous events had occurred, or were said to have occurred. One claimed to have seen canal urts swimming in the vicinity of some shadowy, muchly submerged visitant to the Canal of Veminiums, presumably a shark or long tharlarion.
