It seemed not to have scales, but plating of a sort. In the head were what appeared to be two large eyes, circular, and alit, as if afire. At a distance, or hastily glimpsed, it might easily have been taken for an unusual tharlarion, but, viewed more closely, or at greater length, it was not a tharlarion, merely something which resembled, doubtless by intent, a tharlarion. I suspected it was a vessel of sorts, or a weapon of war. I did not know what it might be doing here, here in the marshes, less than a pasang from the Delta Gate. I wondered if it were manned, or remotely controlled.
