As might be supposed, beneath the loveless, unhappy, sterile placidity of Tharna were the stirrings of a seething discontent. As the result of a particular confluence of historical circumstances, which need not be recited here, the storms and flames of revolution unexpectedly burst forth, resulting in a radical transformation of Tharnan society.
