That possibility, of course, was ruled out as Talena of Ar was now safe on Cos, under the protection of her former ally, Lurius of Jad. In my wandering thoughts, I also considered my annoyance with Florian, which went far beyond his reticence to reveal to me even the name of one who was supposedly "interested" in me and his radical and unaccountable disparagement of me and the Golden Chain.
